The COSTCO Dilemma !

FRANKSMITHSAYSNB EDITORIAL:

Alderman Michael Trueworthy has been quoted, in a local newspaper, with his introducing his plan of eminent domain which his party chairman has been accusing Mayor Erin Stewart of possibly doing, on his blog, over the Costco proposed building in New Britain, but Trueworthy has added a new wrinkle to this issue with his citing “ We need it for public use and access for public safety equipment.”  Many are asking how can Alderman Trueworthy introduce his eminent domain proposal when in reality it’s a business to business issue?
Alderman Louis Salvio was absolutely correct when he criticized Aldermen Sanchez and DeFronzo when the Democratic Council waved millions of dollars of potential income from the tax agreement agreed by the HRA agency and the city for its addition they built on Clinton Street with their supporting the waver.
From day one, upon the introduction of the COSTCO plan, Alderman DeFronzo has opposed it and continues to do so.
