I like his statewide plan for a voucher system which would make schools have to compete for students instead of union teachers being guaranteed their jobs for life even if they refuse to do their jobs and they still get their raises no matter how terrible they are and can never be fired because they are guaranteed their jobs for life. If half the students fled to private schools under the voucher system then you could lay off half the teachers and close half of the schools. The only downside to it is the younger teachers would all get laid off because of the seniority clauses in the union contracts and you will be left with the tenured old geezers who refuse to teach and can never be fired and the school system will collapse because your schools will be made up of a bunch of lazy bums who simply refuse to do their jobs and you can never fire them.
