FRANKSMITHSAYSNB EDITORIAL:

A supporter of the rail system from Waterbury through Bristol, New Britain and onto Hartford citing " he looks at issues from a regional perspective and what is best for all the communities in his district" as reported in today's Herald.

Frankly, His district does not include Waterbury or Bristol. Was a deal made for his support of the rail system vs. the busway? I hope not! As I have stated that the busway will put people to work this coming Spring and the Rail System which approximates one billion dollars in cost will possible never materialize due to a lack of funding some fifteen years from now.

As a former Mayor of New Britain he should be supporting what is an immediate benefit to the city of New Britain and its residents and that is the busway project.

Linda McMahon meets with the New Britain RTC!

Mrs. McMahon clearly stated that she is against partial birth abortions, card check for the union membership, and she went on to describe that she is not a career politician. She explained how her and her husband lived in New Britain and moved to West Hartford and they were forced to file for bankruptcy. " It was an embarrassing ordeal to go through." We lost our home, car and our credit card" McMahon said.

McMahon told the crowd "I want to live the American dream and I cannot stand aside and watch our government increase our debt through the stimulus legislation that is against what the American people want."

McMahon said she believes that we need a voice in Washington that can stop the spending, and that we need to have common sense and there is a complete lack of business sense in Washington. McMahon said that the People have told her they don't want career politicians in Washington and that they want new faces who will help free businesses from government restraints so they can do what they do best--run their businesses, providing goods and services people want, which in turn will create jobs. McMahon said that the Obama administration is spending us into deeper debt with claims that we will get out of debt by ramping up spending. McMahon disagreed, by saying that we need to cut spending in order to get out of debt. McMahon called for the need for tort reform to be in the health plan and not a plan jammed upon us as Madame house Speaker Pelosi promises to do. She said we should allow small businesses to pool their insurance needs for their employees and that we should be allowed to purchase health insurance across state lines.

McMahon predicted that Social Security benefits will last only for about seven more years before going broke, and described the need to look into finding a solution to preserve Medicare benefits. Criticizing Obama's plan, McMahon asked what health care reforms will work if government interferes with doctor and patient relationships? McMahon spoke of the need to bring federal spending down by finding a workable solution for health care and a need to stop the stimulus spending by the administration.

McMahon went on to say "I think that Scott Brown's election is a referendum in the coming elections, with the voting public declaring no to Obmacare." McMahon described an urgent need to secure our country from terrorists by securing our borders. McMahon reminded us of President Reagan's famous comment "Trust but verify" describing Iran as a major problem with their rockets etc. and that Secretary Clinton has been working to get sanctions worked out with our allies.

McMahon said that we need JOBS, JOBS, JOBS, so we must lower taxes to get people back to work. She explained that that is why the stimulus didn't work, because it didn't include the small businesses who provide most of the jobs. McMahon said that Congress should stop the stimulus and not approve the next proposed stimulus, in other words "stop the spending." McMahon said we need to get our small businesses tax breaks so that we can get our economy working again and that we need to find solutions in health care and reduce the size of government. McMahon ended by saying that is why she is a candidate for the office of US Senator.

During the meeting, the Republican Town Committee voted to endorse Linda McMahon for US Senator.
