Having the City obtain the plate finder system that the City of New Haven been using was recommended by Frank Smith says back last November first of last year.
I am happy to see that the Alderman have finally decided along with the police department to place on tonight’s agenda the recommendation for the city to purchase two units.
These units will pay for themselves in a matter of days, if not hours. Get ready for the people waiting in long lines to pay all their back taxes the same way they did in New Haven. Millions of dollars should pour into City Hall almost overnight!
NEW BRITAIN: An astonishing turnout of about 225 civil service workers - and by astonishing we mean pathetic, 225 is not even half of all workers who were eligible to vote - a young firefighter named Michael Yagmin was elected to represent all of the civil service workers on the cities Civil Service Commission in New Britain.
There was a vacancy in the seat due to the retirement of James Bascetta last year. Yagmin is 25 years old, attended high school at Northwest Catholic, and graduated from U-MASS Boston in 2005 with a degree in exercise science and physical education. He has been a firefighter in New Britain since 2005.
In an article in New Britain Herald, Yagmin seemed to be fired up about holding a seat on the commission. We are sure Ed Preece, the most cold-hearted man one ever encountered, had a lot to do with Yagmins anger. Preece is the union president for the local 992 firefighters union.
“There was a need for us to be represented on this commission,” Yagmin said, pointing to juggling of the list. “If we had fair representation on this panel some of these problems could have been alleviated. We have been without a true union representation on the board for two years — since April 2008."
The Truth is - they have had union representation on the board, it just wasn't someone that they wanted. Actually, let us rephrase that, it wasn't someone that Ed Preece wanted.
We hope Mike isn't just another puppet for Mr. Preece's games. His game is getting old, and its about time he gives it up. Preece does any and everything to get the attention of the The Herald, to make everyone feel sorry for him. We are convinced he's got only two goals in life; search for sympathy to get where he wants to be, and ruin Mayor Stewarts agenda.
We had had plenty of encounters with Mr. Preece - and when we say he is cold-hearted, we mean it. We never met someone so rude, and inappropriate in all our life.
Our advice to Mike - Congrats, but don't let someone else control your thoughts, its not worth it. Remember that you were voted to sit there for a reason, and that's to represent ALL civil service workers - not just firemen. Do whats good for the city, not whats good for Ed Preece and his personal vendettas. Amen!!!

tax revenue straight to the BOE! They are crying again especially
Doris (boo hoo) remember she isn't
a property owner simply a renter collecting her big fat pay check off the back of the taxpayers.
I understand she only rents because she knows it is only a matter of time before they boot her butt out of town.
