SENATOR DODD, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR US (NEW BRITAIN) LATELY?
Senator Dodd seems to be putting all his eggs in the big stimulus package.
As a 20 plus year member (past 2 years as chairman) of U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs it seems disingenuous for him to suggest as he often does that, others have caused this financial crisis.
For him to paint himself as some sort of white knight with funds from the feds is bordering on delusional.
According to the Washington Post Dodd and fellow Democratic Sens. John Kerry, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton were the top four recipients of Fannie and Freddie campaign contributions from 1988 to 2008 while opposing legislation to regulate them.
As recently as last summer Dodd thought we should "immediately reconsider ill-advised" reform proposals. His buddy Barney Frank, now chairman of the House Financial Services Committee said “A strong, independent regulator of Fannie and Freddie was "inane."
Senator Dodd I will not forget what you have caused. History will reveal it.

Bristol can receive this money because they don't have an alderman who is blocking receipt of federal funds due to his illegal conflicts of interest.
