It looks like a Democrat primary for the position of NB Town and City Clerk with these three Democrat candidates in the political race: Peter Denuzze, Angelo D'Alfonzo and Suzanne Bielinski.
During her 12 years tenure on the Common Council, Alderwomen Suzanne Bielinski said she was proud of her work on adopting a new city charter, instituting a new emergency-response system, supporting a strong city infrastructure and advocating for quality-of-life initiatives - blight ordinances and one time shot at senior tax relief.
" ABOUT BIELINSKI AS TOWN CLERK: YOU'RE JOKING, RIGHT? If one compares what she says she's done with recent statements from O'Brien and Gerratana (her nephew) you'll recognize that all were forged from the same pile of trash. What's worse, is that she takes credit for it. However, the most telling statements of how Bielinski sees herself are:
“When you can accomplish something and achieve something it is a very rewarding experience,” she said of her time on the council. “It’s time for me to allow someone else to take the reigns." "REIGNS"! If it were anyone else I would disregard the misspelling (the word is, reins); in Bielinski's case, no! She sees herself as a QUEEN! And, she's going, "... to allow someone else to take the reigns." ALLOW! She doesn't realize that there is an election process. The only reason that she had any "reigns" is the Democratic majority on the Council gave her the PRO TEM title, not the voters of NB. I'm going to go and vomit! "
For some reason, Bielinski always reminded me of Pelosi?
#1 who will baby sit Ald Trueworthy when he begins to babble.
#2 didn't Bielinski just pass the city budget cutting all departments EXCEPT the town clerk's and common council's office?
Inquiring minds want to know.
The democratic ticket should be interesting.
I can't help but think that the Beilinski and O'Brien announcements are a smoke screen.
An attempt to shield the real canidate.
I would watch Alderman Hermonowski.

Re #1 - That will only be a problem if Trueworthy runs again and if he is reelected. If NB voters put this bunch of 13 Dems back in office, kiss your city goodbye.
Re #2 (a) Yes she did. It's public information available under FOI laws. Coincidence?; don't believe it; between Working Families Party trickery and this move, Bielinski thinks she has the job sown up. She wants a full budget to work with. She must "know" she will be endorsed; see you later - under the bus - Denuzze!
(b) Yes again; Aldermen Salvio & Bernacki (Rs), responding to the Mayor's request to take a 5% cut from budgets proposed cutting Council stipends by 5%; on 6/5/09, the Democrats rejected the 5% reduction and restored the funds.
Peter Denuzze would slaughter Suzanne Bielinski in the election for Town Clerk. If she runs for this office, she'll go the way of Jim Wiskiewicz...into the sunset, not to be heard of again. Maybe that's the plan???

They are attempting to bait Republicans to leave the council because the Democrats know their socialist ideas have ruined them in New Britain and they know they will lose many seats in the upcoming election. Americans are growing increasingly furious over this attempt at making America a communist country and it is doubtful that any Democrat will get elected to any position in the Fall, so they are trying to trick solid conservative Republican candidates who have responsible ideas that go directly against their socialism into not running by getting them to run for other offices.
The tea parties and revolts will continue to grow over the Summer and the days of a dictator like McNamara running our city our going to come to a screeching halt.
The working people who have to pay for all this nonsense have finally had enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aldermen Bernacki and Salvio are too smart to be "baited" into leaving the council to run for Town Clerk. Bernacki has a business to run, and has done good as an alderman all these years, as has Salvio. The Town Clerk position is a full time job, and Peter Denuzze has done an excellent job at it. Let Suzanne Bielinski run; then she'll be off the council, and Trueworthy would be up the creek without her IF he's re-elected.
That's a big "IF". I believe Trueworthy is going to be dumped along with the rest of the socialists.
There will be less theatrics on the council without her hysterical performances but more will get accomplished without her.
What I am waiting for is republican announcements.... I am not holding my breath...the democrats have opened the door for
the republicans to rush in but
I can bet they don't show up. The republican town committee can't get
out of it's own way.
Maybe the Republicans are too busy working and paying taxes to support all these socialist programs.
OR
Maybe the Republicans are busy selling their businesses and homes in preparation to move somewhere that encourages entrepreneurs with low taxes on businesses and employers?
The Democrats like to worship JFK. When faced with a recession, JFK did the right thing:
He lowered taxes!
At the age of 66, I did not beleive I could be this ashamed of my government to the extent that I am.
