MEET THE CANDIDATES:

Judy Greco: Board of Education

Although Judy Greco is a registered Democrat, she has joined "The Stewart Team" as a Republican Party endorsed candidate for the Board of Education.

Judy had an extensive career in education, dating back to 1963! Judy was an elementary school teacher at Smalley School from 1963 to 1973--where she also served as Interim Principal for 4 months in 1971. Judy then went on to become a Guidance Counselor at Roosevelt Jr. High School from 1973 to 1976, where she again served as Interim Principal. In 1978, Judy served in an internship at the Department of Special Education. From 1979 to 1981, Judy worked as a Senior Counselor at Pulaski High School. In 1981, Judy became the first female Housemaster at New Britain High School. In 1989, Judy became the first lay woman Principal of St. Thomas Aquinas High School where she served until she retired in 1995.

Judy also has a long record of community service, including the following positions:

President, Boys and Girls Club, 2006-present

YWCA, Board of Directors

first female President, Kiwanis Club (1989)

member, Board of Directors, Young Parent Club (1986-1988)

Looks like another example of how the Stewart Team has selected the best candidate for each position, regardless of party affiliations.

Judy Greco is already in Doris Kurtz's pocket. At the time of the contract vote, Greco got up and spoke in favor of Kurtz.

I am sure that the mayor forgot all about Greco selecting the mayor's daughter for a Woman in Leadership YWCA Award when his daughter was only 19 years old and had not done anything nearly as remarkable as many women who were very accomplished and passed over.

The best candidate!?! You will find out for yourself.

I'm not sure I follow you about Ms. Greco being in Doris Kurtz pocket. Please offer some specifics if you are going to make such a statement about a person's character?

I wonder if any of the Democrats on Stewart's ticket will switch to the Republican party?

I wonder if any of the Democrats on Stewart's ticket will switch to the Republican party? The point to me is that the Stewart Team is the only Team to put aside partisan politics and select candidates that are Republicans, Democrats, and unaffiliated voters to fill positions based on their qualifications. The other team is made up of mostly extreme left leaning socialist Democrats that are far enough left leaning that even McNamara would endorse them. That should scare the heck out of anyone.

The specifics were in the article if you read it carefully. Kurtz's last contact barely got by. The vote was 5 in favor of her contract and 4 were opposed to it.

The hall was full of people. Greco got up and spoke in favor of the BOE voting for the contract. She then went around the crowded room prodding others to get up and speak in favor of the contract.

The four opposed were Republicans. Greco does belong on their side.

maybe the Democrats who are not socialists should switch to Republican in protest of the hijacking of the party?

Does anyone recall how Democratic Council Member Phil Sherwood went and had Leslie Jacobs, a registered Republican, to be on the Board of Education, after the Republicans had endorsed a much more qualified person for the Board of Ed? What a farce that was!!
