John Melechinsky sworn in as Clerk of the Common Council

FRANKSMITHSAYSNB EDITORIAL:

John Melechinsky clerk of the common council; and sub- committees is given his Oath of Office by the town and city Clerk Peter Denuzze.

Johnny Mel, as he is commonly known to everyone, has served our city council and its sub-committees faithfully for many years and was re-appointed by an unanimous vote of the common council.

He is also often referred to as the court jester with his sense of humor telling jokes to the audience while waiting for the commencement of the council proceedings.

Did they give Johnny the keys to the city, or just to the front doors?

Representatives of the Connecticut Network Against the Death Penalty (CNADP) will be making a presentation and answering questions. Speakers will include Ben Jones, the executive director, and Juan Melendez, who spent almost 18 years on death row before being found innocent. The CNADP is a statewide organization that advocates for abolition and organize support activities for victims’ families.

I GUESS THEY WOULD'T HAVE BEEN TOO HAPPY TO SEE GLENN BECK APPLAUDING AT THE NEWS THAT JOHN MOHAMMAD (THE BELTWAY TERRORIST) HAD JUST BEEN EXECUTED IN VIRGINIA!

WAY TO GO VIRGINIA!!

The Virginia case is a perfect example of how the death penalty is supposed to work. It only took Virginia 7 years to zap Muhommad, while here in CT we have several inmates that have been sitting on death row for over 20 years waiting for more appeals. Texas usually finishes them off in about 4 years.

I wonder what Dr. Pettit would have to say about the Connecticut Network Against The Death Penalty?
