You call yourself a watchdog on the government! Please. Why don't you go after elected officials who are not representing their districts? They ignore the polls and hope that stupid people will still vote for them. They count on liberal papers like yours to support them. Chris Murphy comes to mind.
I do not need your newspaper to put a spin on what you want me to believe.
Why do you think your subscription rate is plummeting?
Try reporting the news for a change instead of publish Pravda like propaganda.

No mandate from the Governor indicating that newspapers should be shut out of the process is preferred by me as a method of helping municipalities or the state save money. We shouldn't mandate private ownership of computers, especially to the exclusion of newspapers. " Cities that can afford to and wish to, can continue to publish public notices in newspapers. New Britain is not in this category. With regard to NB, the Common Council ALONE, spent $4500 placing notices of public hearings, etc., in the newspapers.
Lou Salvio makes some good points. An end to mandating of public notices and a 25% reduction of the state workforce are 2 valid suggestions for reigning in the out of control spending at our Capitol.
