In a story printed today, the Herald would have its readers believe that Dan Malloy owes his victory in the recent election for Governor entirely to the efforts of the radical Working Families Party.
The truth be told, if it were not for Chester First Selectman Thomas E. Marsh, we would be celebrating the election of Governor Tom Foley. Chester might be a tiny little hamlet very few have ever even heard of, but the impact their First Selectman had on Connecticut may very well be something the people of Connecticut will be regretting for years to come. Mr. Marsh garnered a total of 17,629 votes. Although Mr. Marsh ran as an Independent, he is a very conservative Republican, perhaps one of the most conservative candidates ever to seek the office of Governor in Connecticut.
It would be hard to imagine that anyone who voted for a conservative like Mr. Marsh, would ever even consider voting for an ultra-liberal like Malloy, however, anyone who would vote for a candidate on the radical Working Families Party line would just as easily vote for the same radical liberal on the Democratic line, would they not? For argument's sake, if you add Mr. Marsh's votes to Tom Foley's vote total, Tom Foley would have won the race by 11,225 votes!
Tom Marsh clearly served as a spoiler in this election in so far as he allowed the Democrats to win the Governor's office for the first time in over 20 years--and especially since he enabled the most liberal person to ever hold that office to be elected Governor.
Clearly, the Working Families Party had absolutely nothing to do with the outcome of the race when compared to the enormous part played by Tom Marsh.
Perhaps The Herald will consider telling the entire story to its readers?

The November elections are a disaster in the making if it can get any worse. Hate to be negative but CT residents can expect higher income taxes, higher gas taxes, new thought up taxes,
which will all lead to higher un-employment rates, decreased local consumer confidence, more business closings, less new openings, and people with money pulling back the purse strings even more than they are right now.

of us that voted against this really would appreciate it if you won't complain and whine and such... please put up and shut-up.
Connecticut appears to be embarking on a contest with California to see which state can prove to be the absolute worst state in the nation to run a business. Get ready for a mass exodus like you have never before seen!

So if the voters didn't have the WFP "line" these people would vote for the Republican or not vote at all?
Please... this is a scam.
The WFP is simply an endorsement similar to an Acotn or SEIU or AFSCME or AFL-CIO endorsement. The only difference is O'brien, Tercyak, DeFronzo, Donovan, at el made WFP a "party".
If I am wrong why don't they (1) have more than a few hundred members (I may be generous on this count) and (2) nominate from this pool of "party" members.
Scam...scam...scam.
Marsh gave this election to Malloy not WFP.
I have little doubt that this article will assure Mr. Whipple a huge promotion at our local chapter of Pravda!
As Connecticut begins to go down the toilet at the hands of socialist Democrats, the few people who will be left in this ever shrinking state will all know they can credit Marsh for the destruction of Connecticut.

My day starts with reading their obituaries in order to pay my respects. Other than that, I might as well be reading Good Housekeeping for the Herald. The Courant, on line is all about murders.
I subscribe and thoroughly read the most read paper in the world, The Wall Street Journal.
Friends who think that they are getting balanced news from NPR should know that there are nineteen analysts. Eighteen are very left wing. The nineteenth is a moderate Republican, David Brooks.

DON'T EVEN READ THE HERALD ONLINE, BECAUSE YOU ARE HELPING TO INCREASE THEIR ONLINE ADVERTISING REVENUE WITH EVERY CLICK. IF ENOUGH OF US BOYCOTT THEIR LIBERAL TRIPE, THEY WILL EVENTUALLY BE BLEEDING IN THE POCKETS!

News Corp, parent company of both the Wall Street Journal and Fox News, recently posted a quarterly profit of $440 million--citing the enormous success of their cable news networks as the main reason for their huge profit.
I wonder how the finances of the New Britain Herald compare?
I have previously said that if the herald leaned any more left, they would tip over!
Suggesting that the NB Herald is a bird cage liner would be insulting to birds!
Candidate Foley has no more respect for our state's and nation's constitutions than Governor Elect Malloy has. No loss here.
As for the NB Herald; it won't be long before they'll be giving away their product in order to maintain circulation numbers, just as the Courant is forced to do.
