Great News: Sherwood is leaving the Council.
Good Riddance!
No doubt that after the Democrats name their replacement for this radical, the parking authority will find the need to supply tricycle parking in the city hall garage.
New Hampshire Native a.k.a. NB Alderman Phil Sherwood isn't gone from NB politics yet. They're just relocating Phil into a different District so he can illegally run for the Seat as a State Representative - just like Tim O'Brien and Don DeFronzo have been doing it for years, MOVING UP THE POLITICAL LADDER STEP-by-STEP.
NEW BRITAIN — Majority Leader Phil Sherwood (D) is resigning from the NB common council at the end of the year.
Phil Sherwood who has been at the forefront of grueling political clashes with NB Republican Mayor Timothy Stewart, said he's leaving because he and his family expect to move to a new home next year, which might take him out of District 4, the ward he represents.
Sherwood said that he's not planning any new political involvement immediately, but that he might consider running for Rep. John Geragosian's legislative seat. Rep. Geragosian is giving up his seat to become a state auditor, and the city of NB will have to hold a special election this to choose a new replacement.
I will personally keep an eye on that! But anyway whens the party!
don't forget to add to your list the the state rep. from a NB district who actually lives in Hartford.
I cannot think of one redeeming quality that can be attributed to Phil.
Sorry for the folks in the 25th District if Phil seeks Geragosian's seat.

2011 will truly be a welcome year to celebrate. We are rid of Sherwood and DeFronzo from New Britain. Open the champagne~!
Who will be telling Mr. Trueworthy what to think now?
Who is Sherwood kidding? He is "moving" specifically to run for Geragosian's seat. (He's just going to find an apartment to use as his new address)
And he's not off the Council. He will be appointed to an At-Large seat by the town committee chair. This is just a ruse.
I suppose that little mack the lesser one will be recruiting from kindergarten classes to fill the vacancy created by this radical's resignation?
I love what the alderman said were his greatest accomplishments. One was implementing freedom of information laws. Wrong..... New Britain already had an active FOI ordinance. The alderman simply allowed Rick Guiness to receive free copies. Unfortunately insurance companies also got the freebies at a cost of over several hundred per month. Next claim to fame is financial disclosure of elected officials. Wrong. This only showed that only Stewart and Bernacki had the faith to invest their money in New Britain.
John Geragosian's replacement..... PHIL SHERWOOD. You can take that one to the bank.

But really, do you think anyone will believe this snow (hand)job of a story ? Let's face it, you moved here from New Hampshire to be in politics. Do you think anyone cares if you move a few blocks over so that you can run for this seat ? Heck unlike Pete or Terry's son you live in NB.
Stop the lies and BS Phil, be a man, step up and say you are going to run for the seat, and are moving to be in the district. It's called being HONEST. And as pointed out, Mini Mc is only going to put you back on the council when the music stops to your little game of Musical (council) Chairs.

AT LEAST THEY DON'T HAVE TO CHANGE HIS DIAPER LIKE THE NEWEST MEMBER OF THE COUNCIL.
House is too small for his family? Rumor has it that he's had parties at the house that gave guests the impression that it's plenty big to acommodate the family he has now...he only wants to move to Geragosian's district to run for the State Rep position that John currently has.
Apparantly, Sherwood thinks people in New Britain are stupid!

People of NB should know this..., Sherwood does absolutely nothing that is designed to improve the general public welfare; Sherwood is selfishly devoted to only one goal, i.e., self aggrandizement!

From the picture he is using on his site, it appears he is proud to have helped run Walmart out of New Britain taking their 170 jobs with them!
I guess Democrats stand for destroying private sector jobs at all levels of government.
Sherwood shows on his web site a photo of himself partaking in a radical protest in front of Walmart that led to Walmart leaving New Britain.
The high and mighty Sherwood then proclaims "more to come"
Does that mean that Sherwood, if elected state representative, is promising to drive even more employers out of the city?
Sounds to me that "Don" shares Sherwood's feeling of victory in driving the world's largest employer out of New Britain, doesn't it?
Is it possible that the reason for the former Shaw's super market located on West Main Street does not yet have a new tenant is because of Sherwood, O'Brien, et al drove WalMart out of town? What a waste!! Sherwood ought to go back to his village in New Hampshire, and O'Brien back to Manchester!! They are totally against New Britain having retail businesses that serve the needs of it's residents...Shaws and WalMart, both located in Newington have New Britain residents shopping there now...geeze!!!
