STEWART BACKED BY REALTORS POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

February 11, 2011

CONTACT: (860) 416-2140

Tim Stewart has received the support of the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) in his bid for election to the State Senate for the 6TH District.

RPAC is a voluntary, non-partisan committee of the Connecticut Association of REALTORS® that promotes homeownership and the right to freely transfer, own and use real property of all types. It strives to encourage REALTORS® to take a more active part in the political process and to fulfill their own responsibilities.

RPAC provides support to chosen candidates of all occupations, not just real estate practitioners. RPAC communicates the endorsement to members of the Connecticut Association of REALTORS®, urging them to support the endorsed candidate.

The Committee raises its funds from thousands of individual Realtor volunteers, most of whom are small donors. They share concerns about excessive real estate conveyance taxes, the need for affordable housing, and a healthy free enterprise system. RPAC’s contributions to candidates are strictly regulated by the State Elections Enforcement Commission. Financial statements are filed regularly with the State of Connecticut.

The Stewart for State Senate Committee, having received funding under the State’s Citizens Election Fund, cannot receive any contributions from RPAC in conjunction with this endorsement.

Stewart said, “I am honored to receive the support of the members of the Connecticut Association of REALTORS®. RPAC members and I agree that the state legislature needs to work to make Connecticut a more business friendly state and encourage more homeownership and investment in real property. I look forward to working with REALTORS® from Berlin, Farmington and New Britain if elected to the state senate on February 22nd.”

G-whiz. I thought Stewart was not going to accept endorsements from special interest group.

just a tax paying property owner said...

After reading all the hype put out by the Democraps about taxes, isn't it interesting to see that the group that represents property owners who actually have to pay the taxes is supporting Tim Stewart?

It was unsolicited and not asked for. Good for them as they see someone who will listen to their concerns and not to the crying tenants associations.

The commenter above either needs to read more carefully or else say the true purpose of this post above.

Mr. Stewart receives all manner of endorsements daily. Endorsements and monetary campaign contributions are not the same.

I guess Stewart should have declined the RTC's endorsement also. Does the G-Whiz cmmenter know how ridiculous he looks? What a dope!

perhaps Gerratana should have declined the endorsement of the radical ACORN front group Working Families which has nothing to do with working families and everything to do with radical extremism?

WHY IS NB ALDERMAN TRUEWORTHY LYING TO NB VOTERS?

Hammering at an issue that Democrats hope will sink Mayor Timothy Stewart's run for state Senate, NB council president Michael Trueworthy has called for the city to temporarily stop buying products or services from businesses owned by elected officials, Mark Bernacki and Willie Pabon.

Trueworthy said Monday 02/14/11 that he's basing the proposal on Democratic State Chairwoman Nancy DiNardo's declaration last week that she was asking the chief state's attorney to investigate no-bid contracts during Stewart's administration.

But on Monday afternoon, the chief state's attorney said it had never seen any such request. We've received no complaint on that matter, spokesman Mark Dupuis said.

I'm not surprised at all. This whole thing has been a ruse, Republican Town Chairman Dwight Blint said.

THE NB DEMOCRATS ARE LYING TO THE NB VOTERS!
