What a shame that Mayor Stewart didn't win the election..he would have done much for New Britain at the state level. The positive side to this is that we will have him as Mayor for the next 8 months.

MEDIA REPORTS: Former New Britain Alderman Phil Sherwood, who co-managed Terry Gerratana's campaign, offered some comments on the Gerratana campaign. "It was an extraordinary campaign. I've never seen a candidate for State Senate work harder than Terry, never," Sherwood said. "I believe the voters saw that."

Also, Jon Green, Executive Director of the Connecticut Working Families Party, which endorsed Gerratana, said, Her win is a victory for the idea that voters want leaders who are more concerned with the needs of ordinary working-class families than the desires of well-connected political insiders . ( Aldermen Bernacki and Pabon )

Terry Gerratana's victory means the 6th District remains in Democratic hands. Democrat Donald DeFronzo won a long series of re-elections before he resigned in January to become the State's Commissioner of Administrative Services in the Malloy Administration.

Republicans had hoped that Stewart, an uncommonly successful Republican in heavily Democratic New Britain, would be able to win. Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton, Torrington Mayor Ryan Bingham and Sen. Jason Welch, R-Bristol, all showed up at the Whinstone Headquarters and shook hands with Mayor Stewart after he acknowledged that he'd lost the election.

I guess Trueworthy will have to accept that he has been screwed out of the mayor's office by his own party.

Too bad little Mike.

Better luck in 2 years!

I guess the people of New Britain are saying that they want massive new tax increases. I guess when you live free off of the work of others, that is what you can expect.
