And facilitating illegals: Journal Inquirer

And facilitating illegals
By Chris Powell (Journal Inquirer)

Despite state government's bankruptcy, some people in the General Assembly still can't give away the store fast enough, and in one respect they have Governor Malloy's support -- with legislation to give illegal aliens the discount on tuition at state colleges that is given to state residents.

This legislation is said to be a matter of compassion. Yet it would frankly undermine federal immigration law and invest in people who, far from building Connecticut up, could get deported at any time. The legislation also would deprive some legal Connecticut residents of their own opportunity for higher education, crowding them out. This legislation has no compassion for them.

Yes, young people living illegally in the United States because of their parents' violation of immigration law present a sad situation. But so do the children of anyone who has committed a crime so serious that he is sentenced to prison. In both circumstances the alternative is only not to enforce the law at all, to let the children be used as hostages to lawbreaking.

That is the objective of many on the political left who would treat the children of illegal aliens as citizens without benefit of the naturalization process -- to nullify all immigration law, to erase the country's borders, and thus to prevent the United States from even maintaining itself as a sovereign country with a distinct civic culture. This subversion of immigration law perversely suits many on the political right as well, who welcome the cheap and unskilled labor because it reduces wages and weakens the working class against capital.

But the sad situation isn't hopeless. Each year the United States accepts more legal immigrants than all the rest of the world combined. That's great, but like natural-born citizens those legal immigrants are playing by the rules and are entitled to their enforcement. The tuition discount legislation can only proclaim that the rules will never be enforced and so should never be respected, and that citizenship itself is meaningless.

I suppose if the children of one of these liberal loons were denied access to education because his/her seat were given to an illegal alien, these loons would embrace that as being good for the country to welcome these criminals with open arms.

Instead of rewarding these criminals, and that is what they are simply by being here, we should be following Sheriff Joe Arpaio's example and rounding them up and putting them in jail.

Any illeglal alien, (and that is what they are, not undocumented Americans, undocumented Democrats or any other liberal term you can use to justify their criminal behavior) caught in Maricopa County is facing 90 days in Sheriff's Joe's 120 degree tent city wearing pink underwear and eating bologna sandwiches.

There are stories of illegal aliens (criminals) traveling several hundred miles through the desert heat to avoid Sheriff Joe's county. That in itself is the proof that putting these criminals in jail where they belong is something that works!

Instead of following this fine example, our liberal legislators want to use our tax dollars to reward people they should be rounding up and deporting or better yet jailing.

Mayor Boughton had the right idea--utilizing his police dept to round these criminals up and deport them!

As a result, Danbury has seen a record decrease in crime since all these criminal illegal aliens have been captured and removed from the streets of his city where they can no longer prey on innocent victims.

It worked for Sheriff Joe, and now he is running for the U.S. Senate. Since he usually wins his sheriff elections by landslide numbers, I am sure that Joe Arpaio will soon be Arizona's next U.S. Senator,if for no reason than the majority of the public wants these people put behind bars for their criminal behavior.

Finally, there is an editor who tells it straight, fair and balanced. Chris Powell for Governor!

Only problem is that Chris Powell was a guest on Rowland's WTIC talk show and he mentioned that he has been considering moving out of state.

I guess like so many others, he is planning to flee the repressive socialist taxes of Connecticut.

If Chris Powell were Governor, we wouldn't have the problems we currently have with these socialists handing out our money like it grew on trees.

All the Democrats care about is giving these illegals the right to vote so they can vote for Democrats and empower Democrats to stay in office for life bleeding us dry for every dime they can get for themselves. It is the most selfish bunch of people the world has ever seen.

Why arent they in jail? Do they have a right to be here? Quit giving them special privilige. JAil them for breaking the law.

Imagine how low the unemployment rate would be if we rounded up the 13 million of these illegals, sent them home, and then gave their jobs to Americans?

Report all illegal immigrants to 1-800-DHS-2-ICE. Please be courteous to the customs agent and speak in even clear tones. Give them names of employers, addresses, license plate numbers, and whatever info you have to give. Illegal immigrants need to be rounded up.
