" Facts are facts. Alderwoman Eva Magnuzsewski says, all day kindergarten is so essential. Really? In NB, allday kindergarten is basically a day care center. I recall that a few years ago, Assistant Superintendent, Ron Juakubowski, telling folks that were assembled to hear comments at a session sponsored by a NB Womens Group that, the Kindergarten "students" had the greatest number of discipline problems in NB schools! No lie, he said
that. So, what's so important?
And, BOE Pres., Beloin-Saavedra is an advocate? How does this baby sitting service help prepare kids for the future. Fact, it doesn't any more than half-day kindergarten. Check the records. And please, no more quotes from Merrill Gay and his Early Childhood Discovery Collaborative. His song has now become a cliche.
About the 2% SET ASIDE; two years ins succession, same amount, close to $3 M. That leaves a big hole in the CITY'S Budget. Eva, how do you close that?
I don't fault all, the folks advocating for more education funds any more than I do those who advocate for more public safety funds. Again, facts are facts; from where does/will the money come?. NB can't do what the federal government does, to wit, print more money. Tighten your belts folks, live with it!
NB bona fide taxpayers don't have any more to give! "
