We will be maintaining a majority, but not a super majority as exists now.
Out of 12 board members, New Britain has 7, so the other 2 towns can't overrule New Britain even if they get together on an issue. This leaves New Britain in total control so long as all 7 of our directors stick together.
Under this brilliant brainstorm, Middletown would simply need one member from one of the other towns to join them on any issue to tie a vote with New Britain and 2 members to join them in overruling New Britain. With the number of agitators on the board, that would be easy to do.
New Britain's years of ruling the Mattabassett Board are coming to an end, and the taxpayers who have footed the bills for 70% of this plant's cost over the last 50 years will have Gerratana to thank for giving away their store!
Will the convicted felon still be in charge of $100 million of our money? . . Does that have anything to do with Berlin's investigating pulling out of Mattabassett and building their own sewer plant?
