This is yet another positive undertaking by the Stewart administration to move New Britain forward in these difficult times. It is an exceptional not only in future planning for NB and regional students but also as different magnet school concept. Exciting !
Let us all hope that the effort comes to fruition. It's a positive move for New Britain and especially for those students looking to get a head start on possible careers in the medical and health professions.

I urge all involved, especially parents of New Britain school children to join in promoting this exceptonal idea.

With all the problems with the New Britain education budget, is it feasable to build a new Magnet School?

My question is, besides the sale of the property, what other revenue will this bring in for the city? Is this the right thing for this parcel of land?

First of all, the NB BOE will not run this school, it will be a CREC project, financed by and run by CREC. That is a positive. The NB BOE would only screw it up!

As for Mr. Sanders Jr.'s question, this project may possibly bring other taxpaying related (to health or medical careers) entities to come to the Pinnacle Heights property. Think ahead to a possible health/medical careers, for profit campus for 9-12 students. Let's not talk about what we don't have but what we could have here in NB. We have one of the finest Hospitals in CT., draw on that, Use It. Letr's get our heads out of the sand.
We;'re looking for jobs, jobs, jobs. Grab it, run with it.

Mr salvio,

May possibly doesn't bring a positive tax base to the city of New Britain! We need to think long and hard before we jump the gun and go for the quick fix! Take it slow and look deep into the long term POSSIBILITIES!
