President Obama has single handedly generated a mass political movement called the Tea Party and U.S.A. election results for governors and members of Congress have put opposition candidates into office.
Obama will run for a second term and will probably win. As of right now, I don't think any of the Republican candidates look appealing enough for undecided voters. Of course it is a long time until election and a good debate here or a little conspiracy here can totally change the race.
