A Herald, on line commenter wrote; “The leaders felt that (what Stewart was proposing) was unreasonable.

Then prepare to tell your members that dozens will lose their jobs. That's what's at stake here. There is NO MORE MONEY!!!"

Mayor Stewart has a job to do to keep New Britain taxes stable for this year. If everything he tries to do is thwarted either by the Common Council, the general public or the city workers' unions, what the quoted Herald commenter predicted will have to come true.
