Both Catanzaro and O'Brien wear two faces when speaking about civility and/or cooperation between parties in government. Look at their statements - repeated multiple times in both local papers - and you will see pattern of being anti progress, civility and cooperation in their actions for the past 8 yrs. Both candidates, not only have said nothing positive about New Britain but have shown through their actions that they are uncivil, uncooperative and anti progress. Consider just two recent - within the past three months - actions of both of these candidates, the Aquinas proposal and the COSTCO proposal. Both O'Brien and Catanzaro are anti. Both projects could be revenue producers for NB and jobs producers not only for NB but for Connecticut as well. There are more examples of uncooperative, uncivil and anti progress behavior re these two candidates that will be brought forth in the future. Stay tuned.
Candidate Tim O'Brien stated that the O'Brien Mayority Administration would reduce expenses in NB by sharing more municipal services with nearby towns, and he also pledges to develop a detailed plan for attracting more commercial development into the city of New Britain?
Tim O'Brien assumes that nearby towns want to share municipal services with NB, but he also ignores the fact that much of the municipal budget is not services, but salaries. Unless of course O'Brien is saying in code that he plans on laying off more municipal employees once those services are "shared".
Yes, it is laughable that O'Brien is now pledging to develop a plan to attract commercial development in NB. Mr. O'Brien protested against commercial development at Walmart and currently he has vowed to send CostCo packing.
He has run for Mayor's seat twice now, you'd think that by this time he'd have actually developed a plan and have something greater to offer than his empty promises?

Frank: "Yes, it is laughable that O'Brien is now pledging to develop a plan to attract commercial development in NB. Mr. O'Brien protested against commercial development at Walmart and currently he has vowed to send CostCo packing."
The commenter who wrote the above quoted comment forgot to mention also, that O'Brien, personally promised to and successfully voided the $ 15 million sale (with help from then, State Sen. Don DeFronzo) of excess/nonfunctioning NB watershed property to Tilcon.
How did NB taxpayers benefit from that debacle?
Yet another commenter said, " Anonymous said... Did my eyes deceive me? Did I see you and Johnny Mel lunching at the diner today???"
Frank, was he talking about you lunching with Mel?
O'Brien has clearly demonstrated an anti-business attitude through his joining protests that drove the world's largest employer out of the city, but let us not forget his support for massive tax increases on all businesses in the state, helping to create one of the worst anti-business climates of any state in the nation.
Apparently, O'Brien never saw a business that he didn't see the need to punish for being successful, at least that is what his record shows.
