I am extremely disappointed that Sikorsky will be laying off 419 workers in Connecticut. Keeping good, high-skilled Sikorsky manufacturing jobs in the 3rd Congressional District over the long-term is and has always been a top priority of mine," said DeLauro, D-third district.

In Rick Perry's successful state of Texas the liquor tax is only $2.40 per gallon, $3.00 lower than Dictator Dan's $5.40 a gallon and for a gallon of wine in Texas it is only 20 cents per gallon.

Instead of following a state that is by far the most successful state in the nation, the radicals in our legislature naturally do the reverse and pass massive tax increases which have served to drive more and more of our business out of state.

The article also didn't mention the one time "floor tax" which required all liquor retailers in Connecticut to pay a 20% one time tax on all inventory they had on hand on July 1 of this year. This tax was apparently meant to drive whatever liquor retailers remained standing after such a massive tax to look for a new location over the border in Massachusetts where they could actually survive without the state doing everything in their power to drive the liquor retailers out of business.

I guess Dan Akroyd will enjoy a long career advertising on Connecticut radio stations to come over the border to buy your liquor in Massachusetts to avoid the repressive socialist taxes of Connecticut and while you are there, you can fill your gas tank and save about 30 cents per gallon there too!

Sikorsky has moved most of their operations to Poland where they can avoid the unions.
