COSCO will go to Farmington. New Britain will become the Pit Bull capitol of the state.

“This Costco deal looks like it’s falling apart, it was put together with a lot of assumptions,” Newington Mayor Stephen Woods said.

And If DOT puts the Costco land up for sale, Newington officials say they will consider the state’s offer. But if they do let New Britain have it, they want their share of Costco cut.

Mayor Stephen Woods added, We do feel we have an obligation to the people of Newington, rather than handing over something without getting anything in return for our residents.

It was pointed out there is the possibility that instead of paying an out-of-town rate to play golf (at Stanley Golf Course) maybe people that live here can get a resident rate, citing a similar golf arrangement worked out between Hartford and Wethersfield.

When he was a State Senator, do you remember who was Chair of the State Transportation Committee?

Coule it be that he still hold some sway there?

This is apparently how the radical extremists and band of misfits vwill put this deal to bed!

I don't see any possible reason why the DeFronzo family, O'Brien or anyone else would try to queer this deal with COSTCO; nothing to be gained for the people/taxpayers of New Britain and everything to lose. Is politics so important to these people? This attitude by the O'Brien Administration and the DeFronzos is unconscionable. These are really sick people.

The Herald censors the word "queer" which proves that the people there have their minds in the gutter.

Lou,
For radical extremist socialists, the only goal seems to be to punish/destroy/demonize what they perceive as those evil rich business owners. The attitude seems to be that they despise anyone who has the nerve to actually make a profit. They also seem to believe that private businesses should run like a welfare agency, distributing their goods for no profit, just for the good of everyone, and any business that actually makes money at what they do is part of some evil empire that must be stopped at all cost.
