There was no response to the officer's letter until it became a public nightmare.

What is going on at City Hall? You would have thunk that a state representative career politician and former city alderman might have been able to handle the position of mayor but it is becoming increasingly clear just how disorganized the city has become in a matter of weeks. This guy wanted to the job soooooo bad he could taste it for a couple of years. Just as some of us knew, he wasn't mayor material.

They apologized but stood by their position that they would challenge any worker's comp claim as this was clearly not a work related exposure. I guess the message from the mayor's office really is that these officers should simply stand there and watch people die because if they get sick or injured trying to save someone's life, that message is crystal clear that the city will challenge their worker's comp claim with a vengeance.

Nobody seems to care for the fireman who are subject to the same adverse opression of O'Brien-Sherwood administration.

Sounds to me like a major blooper in the contract! I would expect this administration to correct it immediately, and issue a formal letter of appology to the officer along with a statement to the public and all of our fine emergency personnel reassuring them that it is ok to save our lives!!!!!!!

Let's wait and see
