New Britain Must Cut Down with its Spending

FRANKSMITHSAYSNB EDITORIAL:
Nicholas Mercier, the President of the CPOA, had it right when referring to the Mayor O'Brien's "phantom budget" as continued spending and using income streams, within his budget, as being "exaggerated." One case in point is his estimating 400% increase in marriage licensing fees when it is widely known that young people are living together without the ceremony called marriage. Mr. Mayor "Cut The Spending."

Read the call to the Council for the Special Meeting on Tuesday night. Tell me that all of that bonding is necessary to the efficient functioning of government in New Britain! Especially the pool projects; is there really a "Washington St. Pool?"

This is mostly election year BS!

Can't wait to see what my taxes are in a year or two. After diving out investment, and increasing taxes on businesses, I bet our property values drop again too.

Since Democrats don't pay taxes, they don't care that the Democrats in city hall are spending the city into bankruptcy.

Maybe he knows something the rest of us don't about plans that Despot Dan has to quadruple the marriage license fee?
